Inc. magazine’s 2026 Inc. 5000 is out, and 26 Hampton Roads companies earned a spot on the national ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in the country.

The list measures percentage revenue growth from 2022 through 2025. To qualify, companies had to generate at least $100,000 in revenue in 2022 and at least $2 million in 2025.

It’s a strong showing for Hampton Roads and an interesting look at the businesses across our region that are growing quickly enough to get national attention.

Cinema Cafe is celebrating 40 years, and they’re marking the milestone with a thank-you that movie lovers will definitely want to know about.

From September 4 through September 10, every ticket at every Cinema Cafe location will be just $4. That includes every movie, every showtime, Labor Day screenings and even the premium ImmersiveX auditoriums.

There’s no promo code or special catch. It’s simply a weeklong anniversary deal celebrating the generations of local families, first dates and movie nights that have helped keep Cinema Cafe going for four decades.

A massive new vendor marketplace is getting ready to open near Lynnhaven Mall, and it will be the largest Copper Mill Mercantile location yet.

The new Virginia Beach store is taking over the former Value City Furniture space and will span 55,000 square feet with room for 450 vendors. Shoppers can expect a mix of antiques, gifts, home decor, boutique finds and secondhand clothing through the store’s Copper Closet concept.

Copper Mill started with just 19 vendor booths in North Carolina in 2023 and has since grown to more than 1,300 vendors across four locations.

The Virginia Beach location is expected to open in late August or September.

Atlantic Park Surf has officially wrapped its first year, and the numbers show just how quickly Virginia Beach’s new surf park has become a destination.

More than 90,000 guests visited during year one, representing 43 countries and all 50 states. The wave pool has attracted everyone from first-time surfers to experienced athletes, while also giving spectators a new reason to spend time at Atlantic Park.

The first-year turnout is especially notable for Virginia Beach because the project was designed to bring a new kind of year-round attraction to the Oceanfront and draw visitors beyond the traditional beach season.
