THE WEEKLY SCOOP
The Region’s First Hi-Fi Listening Bar Just Opened in VB
Virginia Beach just welcomed a concept unlike anything else in the region. Rose’s, a new hi-fi listening bar and restaurant in the ViBe Creative District, officially opened this week and it’s designed around one thing: the experience of truly listening to music.
Located near Atlantic Park and The Dome, Rose’s blends an audiophile-level sound system with a chef-driven menu, craft cocktails, and a rooftop bar. Inspired by Japan’s “ongaku kissa” listening spaces, the restaurant was intentionally built to create a near-live music experience where the sound is part of the atmosphere, not just background noise.
The concept comes from a team of familiar local names, including Doddie Braza of Frank & Patty’s, Only You Lounge, and Thank You Thank You Bar, alongside Tracy Horan, Billy Yendall, and Executive Chef Daniel Freeman.
The menu focuses on fresh seafood, seasonal ingredients, thoughtfully sourced meats, and shareable dishes, while the music side leans heavily into jazz, funk, soul, disco, and house played through one of Virginia’s most advanced hi-fi sound systems. Weekend DJs from around the world will also rotate through the space.
Rose’s is now open at 325 Virginia Beach Blvd. with an outdoor terrace, rooftop bar, and nightly listening sessions that feel more like an experience than a dinner reservation.

VB Living Wins Best Marketing Agency on the Southside

We’re incredibly honored to share that VB Living was named Silver Winner for Best Marketing Agency in the 2026 Best of Coastal Virginia Readers’ Choice Awards.

What makes this even more meaningful is that VB Living started in 2020 during COVID, at a time when so many people felt disconnected from their community and each other. What began as a way to share positive local stories and help neighbors stay connected has grown into a platform that now reaches tens of thousands of people across Virginia Beach every single month.
Since then, we’ve had the opportunity to work with and support hundreds of local businesses through our magazines, newsletter, social media platforms, and community initiatives. We’ve shared family stories, highlighted nonprofits, celebrated local wins, promoted small businesses, and helped connect our community in ways we never imagined when this all began.
To our readers, followers, sponsors, and business partners, thank you. A very special thank you to our business sponsors - your support is what keeps our magazines, newsletter, and community platforms free for our local community to enjoy. Every vote, share, message, and partnership has helped VB Living grow into what it is today.
We’re grateful to be part of this community and excited for what’s ahead. 💛
VB Artist Schuyler Beecroft Leaves His Mark on Atlantic Park
Atlantic Park just added another major piece to its growing art scene. This week, Atlantic Park and TowneBank unveiled a new large-scale mural called Dispersion by Virginia Beach native artist Schuyler Beecroft.
The 21-by-13-foot mural overlooks the right break of the Wavegarden Cove surf lagoon and sits just below the infinity-edge pool at The Sitio boutique hotel. Inspired by the movement and energy of water, the piece explores themes of expansion, motion, and connection, tying directly into Atlantic Park’s surf-focused identity.
If Beecroft’s name sounds familiar, you’ve probably already seen his work around Virginia Beach. His artwork is also featured throughout The Sitio, including custom beach towels designed for the hotel.

Atlantic Park says the mural is part of its larger vision to weave art throughout the entire 10-acre development, with installations, furnishings, and collaborations from local and national artists helping shape the guest experience.
For Beecroft, the project feels personal. Growing up surfing in Virginia Beach, he said Atlantic Park is something he “never could have imagined back then,” making the opportunity to contribute to the space “a dream realized.”
The Patriotic Festival Is Returning To Virginia Beach
One of Virginia Beach’s biggest music festivals is officially making a comeback. Organizers announced that the Patriotic Festival will return to the Oceanfront in 2027 after previously being canceled in recent years.
For years, the festival was known for bringing major country music artists and huge crowds to the beach over Memorial Day weekend, becoming one of the city’s signature tourism events. Its return marks another major entertainment win for the Oceanfront.
