THE WEEKLY SCOOP

Virginia Beach to the Mountains Just Got Easier

A new route just dropped for Virginia Beach travelers. Virginia Breeze Bus Lines is now running the Tidewater Current, connecting VB to Harrisonburg with a stop at RIC.

It runs daily, both directions, and opens up an easy way to get across the state.

Students Can Now Get Year-Round Access for Less

A new program at the Norfolk Botanical Garden is making it easier for students to enjoy one of the most peaceful spots in Hampton Roads. College and university students can now get an annual membership for just $40, which includes unlimited access to the garden plus discounts on events, classes, and the gift shop.

If you’re a student or know one, this is an easy yes.

13 Free Concerts Are Taking Over the Oceanfront

Virginia Beach is rolling out 13 nights of free live music across 17th, 24th, and 31st Street parks, featuring a mix of country, reggae, rock, and hip-hop. The series kicks off with Chayce Beckham and Cody Christian, and continues with standout names like The Wailers, MC Lyte, and Moon Taxi.

Concerts run through August, with doors opening at 6pm and shows starting at 7pm. Whether you're planning a casual night out or building your summer calendar, this is one of those local perks you don’t want to miss.

Chic’s Beach Has a New Go-To Restaurant

If you haven’t heard of Chic’s Laundry yet, you will soon. This new Chic’s Beach restaurant opened in March and the concept focuses on modern Mid Atlantic cuisine with seafood, steaks, seasonal dishes, and Neapolitan style pizzas. The team behind it includes Executive Chef Abriel Levantino and award winning chef Todd Jurich.

We recently visited and it lives up to the hype. If it is on your list, book your table sooner than later.
