⛳ Community Victory: First Tee Gets Long-Term Support

A big win for Virginia Beach youth programs could soon secure the future of First Tee – Hampton Roads. City leaders are moving forward with plans to transfer ownership of the 80-acre First Tee property to the YMCA of South Hampton Roads, helping protect a program that has introduced generations of local kids to golf, mentorship, and life skills. The campus includes a nine-hole junior course, clubhouse, and driving range next to Virginia Beach National Golf Club. Council members emphasized preserving the mission while investing in long-term stability, calling it a meaningful public investment in the community. With ongoing improvements already underway and strong city support, this move could ensure First Tee remains a cornerstone for young athletes and families for years to come.

🎷 Oceanfront Gets A Brand-New Cultural Festival

Virginia Beach is getting a brand-new cultural celebration this summer, and it’s bringing music, art, and community energy to the Oceanfront. G-Man Management has been selected to produce the inaugural Jazzteenth festival, a large-scale Juneteenth experience designed to blend live jazz and R&B performances with art, food, local vendors, and cultural programming.

Set for June 20 at the Oceanfront, the free event aims to create a signature annual celebration that honors Black history while welcoming the entire community. Organizers say the festival will spotlight music, creativity, and small businesses, helping position Virginia Beach as a growing destination for inclusive arts experiences.

If you love live music, culture, and seeing our city continue to evolve, this is one event you’ll want on your radar early.

🎮 First Look: Draftcade Brings Unlimited Arcade Fun to Virginia Beach

If you have not heard about Draftcade yet, consider this your inside look at one of Virginia Beach’s newest entertainment spots. We stopped by recently and it is already shaping up to be one of the most fun and affordable things to do around town.

Located in Pembroke Square next to the newly reopened Funny Bone Comedy Club, Draftcade blends retro arcade vibes with a modern hangout atmosphere. Think classic arcade games, skee-ball lanes, pinball, hoops, and giant games paired with a full food menu and 48 rotating draft beers.

Here’s what really stood out to us. Draftcade offers what may be the best entertainment deal in VB right now. For just $10 per person, you get unlimited gameplay for the entire day across more than 75 arcade games. No tokens, no cards, just grab a game band and play as much as you want.

It is family friendly during the day, fun for groups, and an easy add-on if you are planning to catch a comedy show next door. Draftcade has even been named one of the top arcade bars in the United States, and after visiting, we can see why.

Want to see what it actually looks like inside? We shared a full reel showing the games, food, drinks, and all the action from our visit.
